USAT Waiver

I recently volunteered for a duathlon packet p/up and was told that the USAT waiver MUST be signed by everyone, even current USAT card holders. This is a change - last year if you had current card then you showed it, bingo, got your packet, no additional signing. One of the USAT board members showed up to p/u his packet and when I asked him to sign the waiver he told me that he was a USAT member and didn’t have to sign and that he was a BOARD member and knew this to be fact - they had just had a meeting, etc. I told him I knew he was a board member and reiterated that the race director told me this year is different and a waiver must be signed. Luckily, there was another athlete present that is holding his own race and vouched that he also was told that a waiver must be signed by EVERYONE regardless of USAT license. The USAT board member offered nothing further and it was dropped…but it made me curious if anyone else has any knowledge. USAT now has a forum but I haven’t been activated yet…

Anyone? Thanks in advance
