Can you even get a USAT ranking if you are English, or a ferinner in general?
Of course you can. If you pay USAT money for a memebership, and race in three US races - you have a ranking! As a ferriner living in the US …
(know you were joking - but hey JulianfromEngland was coming over to do acouple of races before his crash - he really could have had a ranking if he so desired)
If you make AA you get exclusive use of the VIP Porta Potties at every USAT sanctioned race. They even unroll the paper for you based on how many squares you request!
While I was reading this thread, I visualized Navin Johnson running down the street shouting, “The new phone book is here, the new phone book is here!”.

Trigirlpink (i won’t ask about the pink)…as an AA you get running shirts and hats with USAT All American on them. Pretty nice, although a little intimdating for some people.
One very nice benefit (not by USAT) though is putting it on your resume when you try to score a bike or wetsuit from a sponsor. Put yourself in a sponsor’s position, if he gets two resumes…h20fun and Trigirlpink…h20fun has 5 USAT AA awards, Trigirlpink has none…who do you think gets the bike or wetsuit???
Of course trigirlpink does if she is wearing a thong and holding her boobs. h20fun does if trigirlpink is some 200 lb linebacker…
Hey I don’t believe for a second that the rankings will be out by 8/1. They changed the wording from “by 8/1/07” to “in 2 months” a few weeks ago on the USAT web page. So why did they take the 8/1 date out? My guess is that they are trying to be more ambiguous about when the rankings will be done. Because? It’s not going to be done on time. Just my guess…

Lord loves a workin’ man; don’t trust whitey; see a doctor and get rid of it.
Sponsors would probably first look at where you place in races, which may or may not predict your USAT ranking. I know a lot of big races around here aren’t USAT certified, and a lot of the ones that are feature elite waves where many amateurs compete and don’t get a ranking.
If I ever get ranked in USAT great, if not, maybe next year.

the important thing is your trying…old farts like dave and me only get a few crumbs off the table, so getting a USAT AA can make a meal.
I, for one, was thrilled to be named an All American in my first year doing triathlons. Think it’s pretty cool. So are the animosity from AA’s who don’t care or just slow triathletes?
Man, would that be cool. Walking up to a person with a Mdot hat, compared to a USAT AA hat. I know which one I want!!!
Or Mdot clothing compared to Team USA clothing. I love to be my own person.
Yep, my guess is most of the folks bitching fall into two camps. The young ones with egos that think they are so cool. (Most will
probably never be racing at our age.) And the really good ones that again really do not understand how lucky they were to have the parents
they have. As I have said, the best folks I have ever competed against who were SUPER good, had no ego since their actions spoke
louder than words, or now typing on the internet. They were VERY humble!!!
Yep, look how many of the older pros no longer can race. Am pretty proud the shape my body is in for being 50. Just need to not
beat it up too quickly now.
