USAT has taken the bold move of implementing #SafetyBreaks at all sanctioned races. This comes following a summer spent at community pools where children are required to exit the pool at the top of every hour:
“We thought, well why not. Triathlon is getting way to hard for average people, and this is a great way to bring more people into the sportâ€
Moving forward, at the top of every hour, the race will stop, no matter wheee you are. You can take 5 minutes to rest, get something to eat, or post your accomplishment on your favorite social media site #TriathlonSafetyBreak
Your race time will stop as well, and it will continue promptly at :05 past the hour.
We will implement this all new, exciting strategy at the #USATNationalChampionship race.
“What better place to put this into action, than with the nations top 15% in the age group from any USAT sanctioned raceâ€
We have patted ourselves on the back over this several times, so please, is you see one of us, pat us on the back for making this change.
Not really. Note the spelling of the foreign country that you probably never heard of, ya know, given your screen name and all.
Got it, you’re just being an asshole. Have a great day.
This is a great idea. Would give all the Facebook Triathletes time to hone their craft. Im thinking USAT should incorporate race selfies into the rankings system as well.
