USAT Ballot...filled out and in the mail

I received my ballot today, voted for Lew Kidder in the Central region and Steve Locke for the at large seat and voted yes on the bylaw ballot.

I remember when races in these parts were 25 bucks and held in small IL and WI parks for 150-300 people tops. I liked those days.

While a few of those races are still around, these days the races are sold out “events” with big price tags, a whole lot of people and a whole lot of “noise”, but they are, for the most part, well-put together, sanctioned, and insured. It’s not the good old days anymore, but its not a bad thing either.

Maybe some USAT changes can lead to a way for the best of the old and the new to meet somehow. I have enjoyed the sport for almost 20 years and have never minded paying the yearly fee…but it would be good to see some new ideas coming out of USAT.

Yeah, like the “new idea” of Weiss and Locke to use our USAT funds to get themselves “debt relief”. Race fees and membership fees will have to continue to grow way past $25 to sustain new plans like that.

So, are you going to have anything to post about once the elections are over?

Maybe - depends upon who is elected and what they do with our federation.

Roy

Well, I guess I admire your singleness of purpose.

or personal agenda…

Too many purposes would be confusing

I do have to take a break from posting though, I seem to forget to breath when I am typing
