How in the world does USAC find these out of the way, obscure, patches of road to hold National Championships on ?
It will be “convenient†for you to drive compared to basically anyone else. I have no idea how, but USAC manages to screw just about everything up.
It’ll be generally pretty convenient for the California-Nevada contingent. For us in The West, an 8-hour drive is nothing. I’ll be there.
And though I’m normally happy to jump on any governing body beat-down train, I have immense sympathy for anyone who attempts to put on any kind of road race these days. Permitting is getting really hard. I have some insider info on the permitting for BWR, and it’s just insane. That’s part of the reason why “gravel” is taking off, is that it’s become really hard to put on a quality road race these days. So we have office park crits, and road races and gravel out in the boonies.
