He went off the front with about 25 miles to go. Hincapie appears to be covering attacks from the small chase group.

I wonder if this will make his team negotiations easier or tougher?
I was there watching it, too. Fun race. Home-town George got much bigger cheers in 2nd place than Levi did in 1st. But that was a hell of an effort from Levi.
I’m stoked to see Levi as a national champion. This year has really been a breakout year for him. He was disappointing in the '06 TdF, but his performance this year has been nothing short of stellar. I sure hope he gets signed to a top-notch team as team leader for the TdF '08 – I think he has a good chance to win, given his podium finish and his rapidly-maturing team-leader skills.
Plus, I was also born in Montana and live in California, so he’s my default favorite until Floyd gets back to racing.

I don’t know, but I do know the pack seemed to shrink every time it went by. There were probably only 20 guys in the race by the end.
Apparently the Manayunk Wall ain’t got nothin’ on Paris Mountain.
I know last year they were pretty strict about pulling riders once they got dropped from the main pack.
