Upper ab pain due to tri bike position?

As I ramp up my bike mileage on my new tri bike (100 miles last week end), and I find I have increasing upper ab pain. Strangely, it hurts way more after the ride than during. I wonder if it’s because I am not used to the position (trading up from road bike), and the new forward position continuously pulling on the bars creates tension in my abs and diagphram. Just walking around the house is kind of painful now. I ruled out GI problems, because none of the other symptoms are there.

Has anyone experienced that? Thanks for the tips.

You shouldn’t be pulling on your bars constantly. I almost never pull on my aero bars with the excpetion of closing a gap or maybe climbing. You should be relaxed and comfortable in your aero bars and not that tense.
