Upgrading aerobars - opinions?

Looking to upgrade my aerobars. Currently have Syntace streamliner clip ons. Looking to move to an integrated unit.

Considering Oval A700 (pros: relatively cheap: $171.50, reasonably adjustabality)

Heds, and Oval A900 are at least $250-300 more expensive and I don’t think are worth it.

Anyone have the A700, what are your opinions, how about the other ones.

I imagine the A700 are better than my current clip-ons.

What exactly is wrong with the Syntace bars? Figuring that out might help you pick a replacement.

Nothing, just looking to become more aero.

More aero as in a lower body position or do you want the aero bars themselves to be more aero? If it’s the latter, look at a new base bar like the Visiontech. If it’s the former, then you need to decide what the stack height on your bars needs to be and then research from there.

I moved from C2’s to the Vision Tech clips because I wanted a little longer reach, but the VT’s, even with the 25mm spacers, are still lower than my C2’s were - not ideal when you have long legs and “normal” arms. 20/20 hindsight tells me I should have gotten the C2’s in a larger size and called it good.

Both. Lower and aero bars more aero.

The A900’s and HED’s are worth it.

I replaced my Syntace Streamliners with VT base and clip-ons. Love 'em. I have one clip-on in carbon and the training bike is the alum VT clip-on. They are lower then the Syntace so I use the riser for the elbow pads.

My real question is whether the $200-300 difference between the A700 and A900/Hed worth it?

I just got the A900 TT Bars and my answer is YES the A900 is worth the extra money. Simply because they are the most adjustable bar on the market and I garentee that you will find your sweet spot with these bars. The only other bar I would get is the HED TT bar. But I promise that the A900 will not disapoint.

Cheers
