Upgrade pads on Easton Attack intergrate aero bar

A friend of mine just bought his first tri-bike, a Specialized Transition Expert. It came with Easton Attack aero bars, which he likes the fit of overall. However, the pads are pretty thin, at least compared to my Vision pads. Last night we rode for an hour, his first ride where spent any significant time on his aero bars, and this morning he woke up with bruises on his elbows.

Does Easton sell better pads for these bars, or is than an easy way to make your own?

Bruises? He sounds pretty fragile. Try the Profile Design F-19 armrest pads. I am assuming you are talking about the Attack TT bar.

That’s what I thought. I’ve never had any comfort issues, and I’ve ridden multiple brands, cheap and expensive. These pads do seem kinda thin though. Thanks.

I’ve had the Attacks for about a year and a half, put cee gee’s pads on them, a vast improvement.

could you tell me which ones used for the transition? I’ve looked at the cee website bit unsure. Any help much appreciated - Thanks

Another suggestion: Replace the stock pads with the Profile Design F-19 arm rest kit. Larger surface for the elbow and a better pad to boot.

If he has the non-adjustable bars, then use these - https://www.ceegees.com/product/?product_id=143

I did the same thing and it’s much more comfortable. He might want to lower the pad cups a little, though, the thicker pads raise your aerobar drop.

Thanks for the reply, guys, but this question is over three years old

My friend has since sold the bike. Never did solve the problem with the pads, though.

I’m about to order these thicker CeeGee pads. Anyone have know how to get actual risers? Since the bars are that old I don’t think Easton makes risers for them anymore - in fact I know they don’t I received word back from Easton. Thanks.
