Man, I go a little bonkers when I can’t sleep. I only have 5 hours and 22 minutes before I have to be up to do a track workout!
Well, I hijacked a thread about someone with a wart problem and I made it my own thread mostly. Here is that fucker before all of this started which caused me to get injured 4 times in the same leg last year which is the same leg that this wart is on.
And here is the bastard 2 days ago after getting about 8 Bleomycin injections over the course of the last 8 months or so.
It appears to still have a little bit of wart tissue remaining but we’ll see what my doc says when I go for a checkup in about 2 weeks which will hopefully be the last one.
BTW, rroof, do you like these pics? Also, the Bleomycin didn’t hurt that badly. Yes, it hurt, but I guess I’m not a pussy and I took it pretty well. I only squirmed off the tale 4 or 5 times for each injection ;-P. Seriously, it wasn’t that bad but it did hurt.
Looks great! I love bleomycin injections for verruca (except the cost - that stuff is damn expensive). Most patients complain a bunch of injection site pain/blistering, so I typically use it as a last resort.
You really had 8 though! I’ve never done more than 3! Stubborn bastard for sure
Yes, I had at least 6, probably closer to 8 of them. I’ve been receiving them since November every 3-4 weeks and the last one that I had was at the end of May or so. Like I said, this damn with was stubborn. Luckily, my insurance paid for it all so I had a $30 copay and that was it. Actually, the doc only billed $62 per visit so it looks like my insurance company got lucky.
When I ran X-C in college I got a really bad plantars wart and being the hippy I was I used a home remedy that got rid of it fast no bullshit.
I would take a hot shower and when my feet started getting pruny and waterlogged I took some sand paper and gently sanded off the soft top layer, rinse away all the funk, then I put a piece of fresh garlic right on top of it and covered with a bandaid and then put a sock over it. Take off in the morning and repeat process the next night. I got rid of mine in 2-3 days. I couldn’t believe it. It really did work.
Yes. I tried duct tape and Duofilm which are OTC methods. I also tried something called Wart Peel which is a high strength acid compound and that didn’t do a damn thing. I tried freezing it as well as laser treatments. I also tried an injection of candida and that didn’t do anything either. The bleomycin was the only thing that worked.
That’s crazy. I’m sure there was something caustic in the garlic that helped the body fight the wart. Also, usually if you keep it moist and cause an irritation around the wart, that’ll trigger the body’s immune system to kick in and help get rid of the wart. My body’s immune system was like gnats against an aircraft carrier against this wart.
i would like to take this opportunity to nominate rroof for a Lifetime Slowtwitch Achievement Award for looking at, and putting up with questions about, all of our hideous feet.
