Craig at EE brakes has redesigned and improved the brakes and they now have a Direct Mount version. Interesting is that I heard they are going to have an aero cover as well.
The shield will be available shortly as well and will be an option, but not standard on brakes. I should be able to post a picture of the prototype shield shortly.
I have had their older version for years and love them. So much so that I have one on the back of my current TT set up with a TriRig on the front. I am interested in what this new aero shield will look like AND if it is a retro-fit to their older version.
Here are pics and some info on the 2015 model. Just quick notes about the changes.
Arm shape changes and gets stiffer
Bushings get smaller and stiffer
Eccentric mounting bolt is gone
finger adjuster for centering
Standard length reach adjustment slots
Weight is unchanged
Price goes up about $15 (not confirmed yet)
Main mounting bolt is covered with plastic plug, this plug will be available in a range of colors.
Rim widths from 18-28mm
Tire clearance for a 28c tire
leverage changed for slightly more power
compatible with Shimano, Sram or Campag levers
Available in August.
Direct mount version will be available at the same time. Carbon shield or alloy bridge options.

I’ve got a set of the new direct mount brakes for the AR.
They are incredible. For those with direct mount + Stages or Pioneer clearance concerns this brake is a huge improvement over the Tektro T750 from a stopping power standpoint.
I think you’ll see them on OEM bikes beyond the MacSpecialized and Emonda.
So it looks like the shield will only work on the direct mount option and it replaces the metal arc on the front of the brake to be an integrated part.

I think the metal arc is a spring, so I can not see how the cover would replace it.
Edit: Looks like the direct mount does not have the same spring design, so that makes sense:
Don’t give up just yet. If there is some demand, most anyone handy with CAD and who has access to a 3D printer could make (dare I say it?) an even better shaped plastic cover for the standard mount eebrake. Both for the current gen and the next gen standard mount brake (next gen being the one that might be coming in August). It would not be hard at all. I can already think of some good shapes …
