Up early for a Sat morning 60-mile ride and

it looks like freakin’ thunderstorms!! AAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!! I really hate it when this happens.

Spot

Well you’re definitely not here. 59 degrees, not a cloud to be seen, zero wind, high of 78. We’re finally getting our reward for the cold and rainy Spring.

From the US map, the only places this morning with t-storms are the SouthEast, and northern CA, so its hard to feel too badly for ya!

Screw it…I’m giving it a shot. Radar looks like the heavy stuff isn’t gonna come down for quite awhile yet…

Thats why I sleep in and train in the afternoons, I figure why train when it is 50 out when I can wait later and train when it is 70.

No t-storms here in this part of NorCal. Fog yes, but that’s normal.

Decided to go for a long run instead…logged a 10-miler. Of course, all the gloom and doom predicted by the weather weenies never happened.

No, but a tad nippy for the little Tri-for-Fun in Pleasanton this morning. 900+ folks showed up—these things just keep getting bigger and bigger!

Yeah, I was at about mile 65 of an 85 mile day when I ran in to a stampede - a rancher decided to move his cattle from one field to another, there must have been 200 of them in a bovine peloton, taking up the whole road. Had to take a side road which cut my ride about 7 miles short.

Few things worse than riding though fresh cow crap… Excuse me while I go wash my bike.

Dude, that sucks!!

+900!!! That is so awesome! I was at the first one of those Mark put on back in 1985 or 86. Maybe 40 people then.

It did rain here, but only about 15 minutes. I got wet on my way out to the bridge, but by the time everyone showed up, it had stopped. Sunny, cloudy, sunny, cloudy, repeat…

Mark was going over the history of the event pre-race, and said basically the same thing…from such humble beginnings to this. Supposedly the field today was 60% women, and judging from my perspective, that sure looked accurate. Not too shabby!

I just got back from getting a pedicure and there was a gal there who did the race (still had numbers on her legs). I asked her how it went and she had a huge smile on her face.
