I’m so freaking tired I can barely stay awake. I spent 2 days moving 100 feet across the street and have been stressed out at work not to mention very little sleep this week. Last night I slept in the living room due to company. This morning I spent 90 min asleep while 6 other people brewed coffee, talked and made fun of me. I’ve taken 2 2hr naps today and can barely stand up. Usually if I get 3-4 hrs sleep per night I can function for a week w/out a problem. I can barely function this evening. Has anyone else experienced intense fatigue and an overwhelming need to sleep?
Not unusual.
Even though you are awake, 3-4 hours of sleep a night is not enough to keep a brain and body going strong.
Athletes involved in training should find away to get more sleep then the reccommended 8 hours per night. I’d say you are just plain sleep deprived and your body is telling you enough is enough.
Sounds like the things you mention are a whole combination of things the added together will result with your problem. I agree you need more sleep even if your a young pup. Moving even across the street can be considered a major life change for some people which qualifies as a stresser. finally stress at work is a major fatigue producing factor and this needs to be delt with. I was lucky when my stress at work got to a certain point I told them where to place the job and retired. (I had over 31yrs)
Given all that’s going on in your life, your fatigue doesn’t seem unusual at all. Get some sleep!
It may just be stress, but let me suggest that you have a virus of some sort. This has happened to me in a big way five or more times i my life. Some of them have trashed me for as much as two months. Typically I have been barely able to get through the day, and then I collapse and sleep for 12 or more hours. I am talking the sleep of the dead.
I have tried to fight these things, but it is no use. The only solution is give in and sleep so much that it becomes hard work. The last cycle was about two years ago for me. After about two months I was finally able to exercise again. I remember running with my sister and pushing hard to do 10 minute miles for 2.5 miles around my circle. Ouch. Once you are healthy, it all comes back in a few weeks.
I hope this isn’t your problem, but put it on the list of possibilities.
I just moved a few days ago and had a similar experience - I think it was a combination of very little sleep for a couple days, physical exhastion from moving furniture etc. and mental stress. I feel a lot better now… hopefully a couple nights of good sleep will help.
Could be just environmental, it’s generally still controllable in that you still make the choice when to fall asleep.
But I wouldn’t rule out a virus either. I had one once that led to almost narcoleptic sleep for a month or two and then nearly 3 years of chronic fatigue (wasn’t EBV since I was tested for that). It was definitely weird the first few weeks because there was no transition phase from awake to asleep, it was just bam and I was out.
The guy I was training with at the time got it too but took it easier than me and was over it after several weeks. He fell asleep on a hike in the pouring rain and woke up 3 hours later under a tree wondering how he got there.
