Unnamed carbon bikes on ebay

No paint on them or anything, just naked carbon.
But are these bikes worth the risk of them being structurally unsafe?
Or are the deal everyone should buy?

Anyone know about these?

Those frames are coming from a Taiwanese supplier.
Last year, we have been contacted by a reseller (intermediate) for those same frames (including TT frames).
They have no paint but they pretend they can paint them.
Ok, the deal is that you don’t have any proof that the frame has been tested on jiggs or road …
We bought 3 of them, and was really hard to install the BB correctly, although the finishing was fair.
They are ridiculous cheap … about $ 250,00 ex-work.

So worth it?
Did your store test to see if they hold up on bumps and what-not like a normal road bike would?

I was thinking of purchasing one, but I’m afraid of the possibility of damaged frame and cracks occurring once I install everything and ride it.

2 are on the road … and no report of any problem yet … one year after !
As I said, we only had problems with the installation of the bottom bracket and reported it to the fabricant.
I guess they took appropriate action. Later on, we didn’t purchase more of those frames.

I would strongly consider buying one. In fact, I think I did. My understanding is that there are only a few plants making carbon fiber frames in Asia and they probably come from there.
I bought an mtb frame from these guys 2 years ago: http://www.pedalforce.com

I wasn’t sure if it would hold up to my 200lbs or not, but for 2 years it’s been a champ. Pedalforce guarantees the frame for life against defects, so even if it’s junk and breaks I’ll get a replacement. That part (the warranty) won’t be there if you buy one from ebay, but at that price you could afford a new frame if it did.

?

Thank you for posing this question…I, too, saw these on ebay and was wondering about them.

For those that have built on the frames, was it a nightmare to find components that fit the frames or do standard components (Shimano, SRAM, etc) fit?

Also, any idea on the weight of the frame in comparison to some of the other carbon frames out there?

Bikes are out of China, I know that.
I read on another form and the only thing that seems to be a problem is that the BB is tough to get in sometimes. Supposable you can send them back though.

I know one of the framesets I was thinking of getting was around 4lb 1oz. That is Fork, Frame, and seatpost.
That’s a road bike, not a tri bike.

4+ lbs? Isn’t that a lot? For some reason I was thinking 2lbs…but thats probably without the fork and seatpost…

I’m emailing with Jim at BeyondFab as we speak (the thread the other day got me thinking).

His two roadies come in at 1,000g and 1,150 w/forks.

Great (great!!) pricing on the frames, groups and wheels from him.

My mtb frame was silly light…18" mtb hard tail and I think it was around 2lbs?
My guess is that these frames would come in nicely at the weight you’d expect.
