Unlocker Cell Phone from EBay..Anybody

Has anyone bought an unlocked phone from EBay? I have Motorla Razr V3 and bought a Samsung Blackjack from my current carrier (AT&T) as an upgrade. I hate it & cannot return it.
Am using my old phone with the new SIm Card. Would like a newer Razr . EBay has Razrs from all prices but am a little dubious about buying a cell off EBay.

Advice & counsel welcomed.

I bought an unlocked phone on ebay. It was the motorola pebble. I didnt know it at the time but it turns out to be from the grey market.

Anyway the phone works but I am not really happy with it. The software is messed up on it and I cannot use a lot of the features. Luck for me all I really need is the ability to call people and receive calls which it does.

There are a couple of websites that list the codes for unlocking your phone if you buy it through normal channels and it is locked. Some are free, some cost money. Some will give you the code others want you to send the phone to them and they unlock it and send it back. I would search the net for the code to the phone you want and then just purchase a locked phone and unlock it yourself.

i have a cell from an ebayer, zoomcell. the phone was exactly as they discribed it and has worked fine for the last 6 months.

good luck

Ben

Thanks for the input; will check them out.

I’ve bought two of my last three phones from ebay.
The first worked great. The only reason I’m not still using it is because some asshole stole it out of my locker at the pool.
Then I got an unlocked phone from a store in chinatown. Worked fine, I just didn’t like it as much.
So I got another phone from ebay. That’s the one I’m still using.

When I got the first one, I actually first tried to buy it from nokia’s website. The sale didn’t go through, and then the rules for that model changed (all of a sudden I needed to get it with a contract for a service that didn’t exist in my area!). So I got it on ebay. Ebay provides options and choices that the current official system doesn’t. Why limit yourself to the models that your provider offers, if there’s another phone you want?

oh - and the deals are in the older models. but you probably figured that out.
