I am particularly interested in the opinions of dieticians, doctors, etc.
Has anyone here used any of the Univera Products? The best I can figure, the “ageless wonder” product is similar to Monavie and the “essentials” product is similar to Hammer Perpetuum. They promote all kinds of stuff that they do better than everyone else… aloe vera from the “gold” portion, growing aloe in Russia where the soil has more nutrients and minerals (our soils are striped from over-farming), successful double blind humal clinical testing, more antioxidants, testimonials, healed injuries, fountain of youth, etc. To me, this all sounds like marketing, but I’m wondering if the science behind it is legit. Do these products really do even a portion of what they claim? Why do I need to take this product instead of just modifying my diet to add antioxidants? Can’t I just buy an aloe plant and eat the stuff inside the stems? Is there any advantage to this vs. taking a multi-vitamin? Has anyone ever tried “essentials” as nutrition for IM distance races? Does it eliminate hunger?
Also, has anyone ever been to one of their “group sessions?” What makes me skeptical about the whole thing is the fact that they come on very strong in the sales category with their “health, wealth, and something or other” slogan. Not only do they want you to buy the product, they want you to buy $600 worth of the product and give it out to people so they will buy it. Then, those people will love it so much that they’ll buy it and so forth. Why would a legitimate nutrition company want to promote their product (which is the best thing out there) by way of a pyramid scheme?
