The normal weight limit for a bag is 50 lbs. I have a voucher from USA Cycling for the bike to fly free - it doesn’t mention anything about weight.
Has anyone used these in the past, and does the weight matter?
I’ll hope to get a friendly ticket agent… but if weight doesn’t matter i’ll pack more crap in the bike box. What has your experiece been?

I just used one of mine two weeks ago. The guy working the counter told me that the limit was 50lbs, but I showed him the back of the voucher which said up to 70lbs.
Weight seems to matter less when the guy I’m checking in with notices the tip money in my hand…
I’ve flown before where they’ve charged me $80 for the oversize and $50 for the overweight…over 50 lbs (I used to really pack my bike case full of tri gear since they never weighed it…but now that they have been)… so if the voucher doesn’t state 70 lbs, I’d bet they will charge you if they think about it.
