Have a 3300 m running race coming up this Thursday. It’s a 6 lap (550 m laps) race through the city center of my city. It’s a one-time thing because it’s only being held to celebrate the grand (re-)opening of a big sports store here. Going to be interesting because it’s all on cobblestones, although more Flanders than Roubaix so that shouldn’t be too bad. Only 150 participants are allowed and there are 6 prizes of a full 5 part running outfit from Brooks, which I assume to be shoes, pants, shirt, jacket and a hat or something along those lines. The two fastest men and women win that prize along with the man and woman that come closest to the average time of all 150 participants.
Excited for the race as it’s nice to try something new. Used to be a track guy so I’ve done the 400, 800 and 1500 and now I mostly focus on sprint triathlons and 5k’s, but never done a race of this distance. Plus either way I get a PR!
Any other cool races out there with unconventional distances?
