Ultra-Tri-Guy, hows the UMC training going?

Nick,

How is the training going for Ultraman Canada? Are you ready to rock the house? Drop us a line!!!

Thank's for the interest but I dropped out of the race about five weeks ago.I have had real trouble trying to stay motivated to train while having a bunch of personal stuff hanging over my head. The funny thing is that until I decided to pull the pin I was really fit but just didn't want to "have to" train anymore.I tried to get my motivation back by taking my little MTB and trailer on a four day,500k ride /camping trip from Penticton to Lake Louise but all that did was make me want to go on another big tour like I did in Sth America last year.I could go through the motions and get the job done but that would not be fair to my sponsor who paid the entry fee.Instead I will be part of a crew for a newbie who is pretty scared about doing his first Ultraman. My time will be better served helping him.The race starts on Saturday and it should be a hoot.I will keep you posted on the event over the weekend.I may still have some fight left in my new, fat-ass, lazy body after watching Jonnyo and Sarah have great races this week, they were very inspirational. There is still one event that I have in mind but you will have to wait on that for a bit.Good luck on your ride in Sept and I hope you manage to make it down to Virginia for the Double. You won't regret it.

P.S.I met Paulo this weekend and we were very civil to each other.Maybe there is hope for world peace after all.

Sorry to hear you had to drop Nick…

Will results from each stage be posted by the end of the day? If so, will they be on the UMC website?

Sorry for the delay in replying I've been out doing all kinds of crew and admin stuff for the race today. The results will be posted on the Ultraman Canada website as soon as possible after the finish of each days stage.I will also be posting a daily report on a blog that will be set up tonight. We are all set to go tomorrow morning at 7am Penticton time with 16 solos and three teams.I am on a crew for Dave Barstis who is half of a husband and wife team.

I was a little afraid of meeting you, you might be wearing just a race number

It was great meeting you and thanks for the splits you gave me of Jonny!

No worries Paulo.Pity you couldn't be in Penticton longer. Our paths will cross again I'm sure but for the moment keep up the good work with your young Ironlads. You must be doing something right.Well done.
