2:30 p.m. Race doctors are keeping a watchful eye on Phonak’s Tyler Hamilton. He was checked out at hospital yesterday, and while his right hand is not broken, he is wearing a pad to cushion it against road shock. If it bugs him, the docs will remove it. (Velonews, Vuelta stage 7)

he’s a nice guy and a really fantastic cyclist but if he can’t stay up on his bike for a three week tour he will never win a major one.
Despite that, he showed awesome form in the olympics and I was really glad for his win! As it was only 2 days on the road, he didn’t had the time to fall… ironic
