Tyler hopes to do an Ironman one day

In his very last comment, he said he couldn’t imagine doing a marathon after today’s effort but would love to do an Ironman one day. Cool!

Wonder how his running and swimming is.

So does this mean he is going to do an Ironman MINUS THE MARATHON ?

That is one of the stupidist comments I’ve ever seen here !

i’ve seen MUCH stupider(?) comments here. but this makes sense to me: “after TODAY’S effort”. earlier in the interview he said he left it all on the road…

pacing anyone? specific training?

lighten up!

Actually, many people on this forum have expressed the opinion that a stand-alone mary is much tougher than an IM, mainly because the run pace is naturally higher. I’ve done neither, so can’t speak from experience.

I agree, he made it clear it gave it on the bike. So, if he did an IM, he would change his pacing, and stop the bike in the dismount area. :o)

Perhaps he should phrase his comments clearly in future.

Seemed very very clear to me what he said, and meant.

cool? the guy is a cheater who got caught and continues to blatantly lie about it. what is cool about him crossing over into tris where his drug taking machine is well ahead of the drug catchers in our sport?

Agreed.

You’re not suppossed to bring that up. You’re just suppossed to say “Great” and move on.

I agree, a standalone marathon is not only harder than a full Ironman, but it takes longer to fully recover. That being said, an Ironman takes much more time and effort to prepare for!

Tyler is not the most articulate cyclist in the peleton.

It sounds like the runner had one of the biggest crash-n-burns ever!

Yep. I feel really beat up physically after a stand alone marathon and have trouble walking down stairs the next day. After my only IM, I was a little sore, but not bad. That said, I was more mentally tired and just physically exhausted after the IM. It was a deep down tired, I felt like I couldn’t get enough sleep for about a month afterwards. After a marathon, I am tight, can’t run and have no power for a few weeks. It’s a strange deal. You would think the IM would be worse for the beat up factor and recovery.
