Two things the Mets have never had

A no-hitter by one of their pitchers, and a batting champion. It’s been 50 years. The former isn’t likely, but the latter…

Jose Reyes: .334
Ryan Braun: .333

Just about the only thing worth following on the Metropolitans these days.

(edit)

9/28:

Reyes goes 3-6 with two HRs, Braun 1-2. Going into the game, it was Reyes up, then he made an out, so Braun up, then Reyes homers to go up, then Braun gets a hit to go up, then Reyes homers again to go up. Mets have an afternoon game, so assuming Reyes is still in the lead, Met fans will be following the Brew crew. Interesting question for Braun: if Reyes pulls an 0-fer, does Braun play?

Jose Reyes: .33582
Ryan Braun: .33452

another thing they’ve never had… They’ve never had me in their kitchen.

Don’t worry. The Mets will find a way to screw it up before the end of the season.

Unless they bench him or make him a pitcher, I’m pretty sure it’s up to Jose himself. 38 more ABs and he qualifies.

9/26:

Reyes: 3/4
Braun: 1/1 as late substitution

Reyes: .333962
Braun: .333931

Yikes.

9/27: Reyes is 9/33 lifetime against Arroyo, Braun 1/12 against Ohlendorf.
9/28: Reyes 4/5 against Volquez, no pitcher announced for Pittsburgh.

Yeah, I’m being weird.
