I’m a huge First Amendment supporter, but if Twitter could manage to dry up and fade away – through market forces, of course – that’d be great.
One salutary effect of the social media platform’s exit from this mortal coil would be that our current president would have to find some other way – such as a policy position paper, maybe, or a speech to a large audience or something else equally unorthodox – to communicate with the world at 3:30 A.M. or any other time of the day or night.

I really like twitter for aggregating news. For me, science news in particular. There is right around jack shit science news on regular media site so it’s very nice I can pull up a lot of the latest stuff without searching.
A lot of the space probe, telescopes, NASA projects have their own handles so they’ll post pictures of what is going at that time.
Beyond that it’s a complete waste of time for most things. For triathletes it’s how many sponsors can you tag in one post.
So you’re telling us that you’re a smart guy with intellectual interests.
If that’s what twitter needs to rely on to stay afloat, I think its doomed.

According to this 2015 AdWeek article, the typical #Twitter user is a young, affluent, college-educated, non-white male.
I call BS on this study.
