My girlfriend said to me the other night, during the final of the World Cup of Hockey that I watched too much TV. If the last 3 months are an indicator, she’s right. Normally, I don’t watch much TV at all. Maybe the news a couple of nights each week. However, for the last three months it’s been, I admit nuts.
First there was the Euro Cup of Soccer. The we segued nicely into the Tour de France. I think that we had a couple of weeks off in late July, but then it was right into the Olympic Games and finally we wrapped things up with the World Cup of Hockey. I have turned the TV off for a good long while.
As soon as the Stanley cup ended we had the TDF to look forward to, once the TDF was over it was the Olympics, then probably the only Hockey we’ll get this year - World Cup.
and now we enter a frozen wasteland with no Hockey. sprinkled with views of barechested fat boys painted in their team colors, screaming in 5 degree weather, and sloshing lite beer and no-carb fried pork rinds on the people sitting next to him…
I watched one episode of Survivor a while back. I turnd it off about half way through. Not sure what all the hype was. I must be missing something. It seemed about as exciting as watching the grass grow.
unfortunately we’re in Kansas AKA a-no-hockey wasteland.
We were walking thru Best Buy last year and my wife, the real uber-hockey fan, caught a glimpse of a game on HDTV. I then heard her utter one of the two best things you can ever hear a wife say…: We need to get a High Def TV.
Of course the other one is: Honey this is my friend janet, she’ll be joining us for a 3-way tonight
OK, we had Stanley Cup playoffs, Euro 2004, TdF olympics, Hockey world cup…but now have have CFL Football, NFL Football, MLB Playoffs. The entire NHL season till xmas is a long waste of time anyway, so how are we missing anything ? OK, no Vuelta on OLN, I guess we are missing something.
