Turning a tt bike to a road bike

I currently have a felt b16 and was considering making it more of a road bike, reason being the time that I have doesn’t allow for me to train for multisport right now and cycling is something I do not want to sacrifice. This is my only bike that is why I am thinking of changing something, i do plan on getting back into triathlon when I can fit it which is why I would like to keep this bike. Any ideas?

I would say go for it, people convert their road bikes to Tri bikes all the time and I am sure you would not be the first to change a Tri to roadie. I know I wouldn’t want to do that if I were planning on switching back and forth all the time so I didn’t have to keep routing cables a lot.

I set up my Cervelo P2C as a road bike. See below. The seat post has two positions, so I can switch back and forth between steep and slack. Then I just clip on the aerobars, put on a shorter stem, space it down, and I’m ready to race in a tri.

It makes more sense to me than buying a road bike and using it for triathlon. You’ll never get the steep/short geometry you need for the aero position that way, whereas with a tri bike that has dual saddle positions, you can probably lengthen it to get a decent road fit.
