Tupper Lake Roll Call

Who’s in? When are you arriving and where are you staying?

I’m racing the 1/2 iron. Staying in Saranac Lake Friday & Saturday nights.

Hey Chris,
Can you please re-name this thread “where do we camp at tupper lake?”
i’m going to be there to serve up some of my patented brew: pathetic swim, good bike, ok run.

Got roped into doing the swim leg of a relay. Apparently my teamates think “he’s a triathlete so he must be a fast swimmer.”
Boy are they in for a surprise.
Live local.

i’m in for the 1/2. staying in long lake fri night…

i am in, we are getting there Friday afternoon. Racing Saturday, then recon the LP course Sunday and Monday. looking forward to it!

I’m in the half iron. I’m staying in the Hotel Saranac and will be the guy with a Cervelo P3C and the L.G. aero helment, also I’ll be the guy walking through the water stops and asking for beer. Tim

I’m at the same hotel, with the same bike and helmet. I’ll hold the beer until after the race. See you at the bar back in Saranac Saturday night?

I hear that the traditional place to camp is in the parking lot next to the the “no camping” sign. I had planned on doing so but my sister got us rooms in Long Lake at the Adirondack.

I’ll be there, for my 10th Tinman in a row. Sporting the Crayola colors of the Philadelphia Triathlon Club (nee, Guy’s Multisport), I’ll be staying at Shaheen’s Motel in Tupper Lake. A group of us will be riding a lap of the LP course on Sunday, so I’m sure I’ll see a lot of you there.

I’ll be there are well! My first half IM  We are arriving on Friday afternoon and staying in Saranac Lake, Amanda’s Village Motel I believe.

HurricaneBob, thanks for the link to your past race reports!

Q: are the aid stations on the run well stocked or should I carry my fuel belt? I know…I’m a newbie! Just trying to iron out all the kinks and quirks in my head.

I’m pretty excited. Weather forecast is calling for some cooler temps which would be nice considering the heat wave we are experiencing.

Erika

I will be camping in the transition area/parking lot next to transition…Traditionally this is what the group from Ottawa does and have had no problems with it, but this year most of them are injured or not racing, so I may be the only one. Feel free to join!!

SPINHO will go…
but I’m not excited about it. Maybe because of the weather forcast? I’m tired of racing in the rain. I’m driving up tomorrow and staying in Lake Placid. I’ll swim Mirror Lake on Sunday and drive home.

I’m in for the 1/2. Driving up Friday afternoon - staying in Lake Placid - Summit Hotel.

What’s wrong with the weather?
After this hot and humid heatwave, 66 w/ scattered showers sounds perfect!

What time you swimming in Mirror Lake on Sunday?

Mike,

Ill be camping as well by the T-Zone so you wont be the only one there!!!

I was worried since most of the Ottawa crew wasn’t there I was going to be alone but glad to hear I have some company.

Marcel

I’ll be there as well, camping in the traditional place.

The official Dev Paul’s “WOODSTOCK AT TUPPER LAKE” unfortunately without Dev this year :frowning:

See you there.

Peter

last year the aid stations had plenty of water and powerade. Unless you are looking for something specific I do not think you will need a fuelbelt.

Thanks Chris
.

Hey there Peter; Good luck over the weekend, I’ll be thinking of you guys.

Hi Barry

Thanks for the good wishes. We’ll miss you, Mrs Konaexpress as well as your wonderfull dogs.
They brought a great party atmosphere to the whole Woodstock event.

I hope you are healing well, and I hope to see you at a race before the end of the season.

Peter
