Tufo tire vs ironman schwalbe

So had a flat yesterday … Removed schwalbe ironman tubular and threw on a brand new tufo jet 19 mm. I know they are bad but I wanted to wear it down for a spare. It literally felt like I was dragging an anchor today over 23 mph. What is the wattage difference for these two tires at the same speed?? 10??

Hey SlammedStance, you’ve got the tyres on YOUR bike, so why don’t you tell us the difference…

Lol my guess would be 10 watts
.

10 is not out of the question.

Lol my guess would be 10 watts

so let’s call it 10 then

Tufo tires requires 10 watts more to ride at the same speed than the Schwalbe Ironman tire!

that statement can now be taken as gospel as SlammedStance has done the “testing” and Avago has written it on the internet… so it must be true.

From AFM’s testing, the best Tufo tires were 16 to 17 watts per wheel.

The Schwalbe on that list would slot in around the 12 watts per wheel mark. (consistent with Tom’s testing of the Schwalbe, as well)

So a difference of 10 watts is about right for two tires.

don’t forget to road factor AFMs tests. I think Tom already has with his…maybe?

Yeah I’m not gonna dig that hard. Just don’t ride tufos.

Yesterday was the first time I’ve ever just switched them like that do a long ride. Not even sure I want to use it for a spare.
