Tubulars lossing air?

This is the first pair of tubulars I have ever owned. I bought them new over ebay. I pump them up, and wait a few days to see if they deflate. They do, but slowly. I don’t have a tire pressure gauge so I don’t know, by how much, but the difference can be felt with a squeeze. Is this normal?

does it have latex tubes inside?
if so, thats normal

If they have latex tubes, yes. If they have butyl tubes, no, but you could probably fix a leak that slow with some sealant. The tube material should be on the manf website.

Both of them have this problem, so I can only assume they are latex tubes, or both have equally small holes.

They are (discontinued) Vitorria Atlanta Gold CL track tires. I can’t find any information on them (in english), does anyone have any idea whether they are latex or not?

I would be surprised if they aren’t latex tubes. Don’t worry about it.

You’re using these for hte track, right?

Thats another question I wanted to ask. I bought these tires, not knowing they were track tires. Are they at all suitable for road/race usage?

Your biggest mistake is buying bike gear on Ebay.

Are they at all suitable for road/race usage?

If you like flats.

g

Probably not. Track tires will get thrashed by a road. Think a real leather NBA basketball on an asphault court. Plus punctures.

Nah dude, he was being sarcastic… anyone who has been around bikes:

  1. Knows what parts they need
  2. Knows how to fix whatever is broken
  3. Knows that you spend too much time jackin’ with other people’s junk from Ebay
  4. Knows that a relationship with the LBS will get you prices equivalent to Ebay

Just do you homework before buying in Ebay, seriously!
