I have tubular continental sprinters on my bike that has been hanging from its frame all winter (Inflated). Is there anything I need to do to make sure they are in good shape and ready to be ridden? I guess if they hold air then I am golden. There has been no weight on them
Please a advise if there is anything that should be done.
give 'em a hard roll with your thumbs to see if they’re still stuck with “pliable” glue…if yeah, ride em.
others will tell you to peel them off and lay on a thin layer of glue first. I’ve done it both ways and never had an issue either way. As I age, I’ve become a bit more conservative and would take the three minutes to add glue.
Ha! Back in the day at road races marshalls would come and try to rip off our tires at the start of races - cant say I ever saw one roll off…
Truth is, I’ve never seen one roll off…

Be glad for that. It’s quite epic.
I have seen them come off in crits - never seen one roll at a Tri. I meant never seen one come off into someones hands at the start line.

I had a teammate roll and flat (not sure which happened first) a tubular going into the final turn of a crit sprint this past weekend. Luckily, he kept it upright, believe it or not.
He was asking me about clincher race wheels after the race
