So I glued a spare for IMAZ back in April and fortunately did not use it. I am getting close to my second race of the season and am wondering what I do with it now? Since it was glued a few months back do I apply another coat of glue to continue using it as a spare or do I need to do anything else?
Just one person’s experience.
I took a very old tubular off my wheel about 2 years ago. I kept it as a spare. Last week I put it on the rim without applying any new glue to the rim, so both the glue on the rim and the glue on the tire were more than 1 year old. 5 days later the tire was very difficult to remove and while not the same as a new installation, was still quite “glued” to the wheel. For the purposes of replacing in a race it would have been more than sufficient.
I would just leave it as is.
Just leave it be…the heat of the day on the spare…and the heat from the rim will have softened the glue on the rim…you’ll be fine.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I will do what you suggest.
