Tubular cement on my fingers

So I had a few drinks and decided it was as good a time as any to put some cement on my x tra tubular.

I’ve been scrubbing my hands for the passed 30 mins and I still have glue all over them. I tried soap, rubbing alcohol and nail polish remover, the next step is sand paper.

Any ideas?

What kind of cement?

Goo Gone. Smells orangy fresh! Follow-up with a bit of pumice-based soap (like sandpaper, but actually meant for washing hands). Baby Oil works well too…

continental.

I tried sandpaper, no luck.

I have no worries that I will ever roll a tubular after this experience.

Mineral spirits should remove it.

It’s probably the same as the Vittoria glue. Gasoline took it off in a heartbeat. Just use some caution.

i tried every chemical in the bathroom.

no luck

I’m going to try some old model airplane gasoline that’s somewhere in the basement.

soak them mitts in gasoline, if you can afford it.

Hey Jonathon - this is why I went to Walgreens and purchased a box of surgical gloves. I have never been a clean applyer of tubular glue but with the gloves on have been free of the black marks for years - but I also have not tried to put one on after a case of Guinness!!! Surgical Spirits also works.

Try acetone/paint thinner works better than anything else I have tried. It also does a good job on removing old glue from the rim.

I found that conti cement comes off when you skin does. That’s why I would strongly second the rubber/surgical glove comment. It’s much easier to just toss the gloves afterwards.
