Tubeless tire system for road bikes?

My local bike shop guy said that they are doing this now, just like with mt. bikes. Anybody try this yet or even hear of it being done?

Have to say I don’t see a real big advantage in road application, I’d wonder about a road tire getting a tight enough seal with no tube.

TUFO makes tubeless clinchers.

Yes I know, but this “system” is like mounting a wire bead clincher on a clincher wheel with no intertube. Much like a car tire is done.

unless I missed something, UST or Stans are non-road tire compatable

It is my understanding that Stan is working on a version for road bikes. The thought of a self sealing road tire with less rotational mass than a traditional tire/tube combination sounds almost too good to be true.
