TSR thank you to Gordo - as posted on his site

Hello all…wanted to stop by and drop a note for Gordo.

Most often I am on Slowtwitch fighting with the hooligans and telling people that their seat is to high. Some of you I am sure spend some time there, and if so - you may have heard of “TSR” or Team Second Hand Racing. This all started as a crazy idea to get a bike for a member of Slowtwitch…well, things on the internet as usual got weird…

So…a few months ago I took over (elected myself) TSR and have been running with it. I used to look around in my “bike room” and noticed that I had spare bikes, Record 9 kits, Chorus kits, seats, bars, stems, and “stuff”…all good for someone…but I knew that I would never use any of it again. This stuff I had offers from people to buy from me…$150.00 for that Record 9 kit…um…is that what it is worth…probably…will I sell it for that…no. BUT, I will dontate it!

So, today…we have built a Softride Rocket R1 with a Record 9 kit, Dura Ace brakes, Profile donated brand new Carbon X bars, BDC fork, bottle cages and brake levers for a US Marine who was injured in the line of duty. I have sent wheels, stems, HRM’s, Pedals, handle bars, shift levers, chains, and just “stuff” to people who said that they needed something. (No credit checks required ;-P)

Gordo the other day sent a box that was a gold mine for TSR, a Curloo frame, bottles, Dura Ace Der’s, pedals, wheels…that was just awesome and more than I would ever imagine that anyone would ever send. I have had some super nice gifts that I will certainly send out from others (full group sets, bars, wheels, stems and on and on)…I wanted to thank Gordo for helping my cause…and that is to help people get into the sport.

If you have anything that you know you are never going to use…consider donating it to your local Tri club, to TSR or to someone. If you need, or know someone who could really use something (clipless pedals is the #1 shipped item)…please - let me know. I have parts looking for a home.

Thank you all, thank you Gordo and I hope you all the best of luck this season.

Very cool. I’ve always thought Gordo was a class act. Now we all know that he is.

Yes he is, it is an honor that he would trust me. He even sent me a wheel with a Powertab hub, and the electronics…wow…that is all I can say…wow…now…what to do wiht that wheel (as it is so tempting to put it on my bike)
