Ask yourself this, what are the potential performance benefits?
My opinion is these cranks are excellent.
I agree that these are very nice cranks.I think the chainrings are 52/42 so that may be a consideration when choosing your cassette.Since when is nashbar the little guy?
Just be aware that contrary to a prior post, you will be unable to use a Shimano BB tool on any Isis BB (including RF, again, contrary to the previous post.) Isis has a larger spindle OD than Octalink, and requires different tools, or at least compatible ones. Current Park BB tools are both Isis and Shimano comp., Shimano, older Park, and most other brand tools are not.
I purchased this very crankset from Nashbar, and it arrived on my front doorstep this week. I’m having it installed later today, and I hope to take it on its first ride this afternoon. The mechanic at my LBS was pretty impressed with it, especially at that price point. It should be a 55/42. I got this crankset b/c of the price, and b/c there were some posts a few weeks ago touting the quality of TruVativ. My bike isn’t a very expensive one, so I did some upgrades on key components at a reasonable price.
