DOJ declines to prosecute James Comey on inspector general referral for leaking classified info
DOJ IG “found no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the memos to members of the media.” I don’t need a public apology from those who defamed me, but a quick message with a “sorry we lied about you†would be nice.
And to all those who’ve spent two years talking about me “going to jail†or being a “liar and a leakerâ€â€”ask yourselves why you still trust people who gave you bad info for so long, including the president.
Why is it I think this won’t slow them down at all. Hell, we still hear about how Hillary killed a bunch of guys in Benghazi despite the GOP running years of hearing and not being able to find shit.
It’s a fairly scathing report on Comey’s conduct, though it falls short of rising to the level of criminal prosecution because he didn’t release classified information, as was alleged.
Sounds familiar, right?
Looking forward to Trump’s completely self-unaware tweets about how he belongs in prison despite the decision.
i can’t help you when you refuse to acknowledge the deep state political battles that continue to paint Trump in the worst light possible. Everyone is out to get him, even his own admin and now his favorite news network. The guy can’t win.

Exactly. The poor guy.
But at least we know he won’t criticize this decision because Trump “totally supports law enforcement.â€

At least from what I understood from the legal journalist I listened to break down the Mueller report there’s a chance Trump will end up being prosecuted when he’s out of office. Or at least there’s enough evidence to warrant it, whether there is any will to do so from the next administration is another question.

Comey as in a tough spot. He had to have known he was violating policy. But he also knew that Trump was going to lie his ass off about everything all the time, and specifically about Comey too.
Without the contemporaneous memos he would have been hung out to dry. But with the memos he is clearly violating policy.
This needs to go on a loop for anyone thinking about working near Trump, the only way to deal with him is to never deal with him. Stay far way.

I would have chosen to violate a policy too. NBD. Self protection.
This matter is being handled as it should, IMO. Comey is called out for violating policies and procedures and was fired, which is appropriate. He won’t be prosecuted, which is appropriate. He’s proven to be no boy scout, which is appropriate. The left will see him as a hero to the SJW / anti-Trump movement and justify his actions and even honor the man for them (forgetting his handling of the Clinton email debacle, but politics allows for selective memories). The righties will rage about the villain who violated policies/procedures and maybe even gray areas of the law and got away with it - just another anti-American deep state operative.
Thus far, the comments in this thread are Exhibit A…
I wonder at what point Nadler,Schiff and Cummings are going to demand- Horowitz, Barr and Comey be questioned before a House judiciary and intelligence committees to explain this report? Umm…never mind.
