Maybe take a step back and think: are ok to judge all citizens of a region/country based on the positions and comments of a bunch of far right/left politicians comments? Is it logical to say that all Americans are MAGA and think like that based on the opinion of a few vocal minority?
That did not take long. It is evident that Hamas wants to continue fighting both killing their own and trying against Israel. IDF is going to have to finish Hamas to the dismay of thousands of western supporters.
no. It’s not. Specifically. But you keep convincing yourself that it is if it makes it easier to believe that the (increasing) time you are spending here is doing anything other than confirming your bias ande driving you further into your bubble.
Best of luck.
here’s a project for you this weekend. Consider who controls the process here now. consider what their first steps were. Consider what their positions were during times like Covid. What was their approach to people who wanted to express a different view.
In general, what has been their preferred position as it relates to users of a certain viewpoint in the past here.
What was this place like 2 years ago? 10 years ago? what attracted you to it in the first place?
Your position is that “dissent is allowed”. The message I received was i was not allowed here for an extended period of time because my only purpose here was to “create dissent”.
Your friend who agrees with you chooses to argue that dissent is allowed, it’s just me who can’t act like an adult while dissenting that’s the problem (from this posters perspective dissent happens “all the time” around here).
If that’s true then I would expect a vibrant coffee shop and double secret “invite only” sub political room both of which have regular new users being admitted and these new users jumping in with both feet (posting #’s wise) expressing their dissent in an adult fashion……… has this been your experience in the last 6 months? on my weekly check in of users and those posting here I’m not seeing it.
Because you believe dissent is allowed doesn’t make it so.
But wordle is going strong and it feels good to come somewhere where you’re not really challenged amirite?
the best part is the new owners, after trying to make this work are getting exactly what they wanted. All they needed to do was give up and turn it over to one of the people who was most likely bitching to them the most!!!
I had to sit on this and read it a couple of times before responding.
You make valid points. Might I counter your position with a question, Why do you think this thread on the subject of the Mideast war aftermath with our president’s name prominently displayed in the title is left open for all to peruse and weigh in, including you?
As wins for the President go, this one stands atop the list. I would think this “test” here has been rigged to your advantage. A test case just for you to see if you can engage in dissent within the rules, and just maybe, if you pass the test here, then access to the other room would be given.
how does the answer either way “counter” my position?
I am not interested in passing tests to be admitted to double secret rooms. Either there is open dialogue with clear rules enforced consistently or there is not.
But I appreciate you asking. You and I have always found a way to coexist in the deepest of political disagreements. Perhaps it is the way we have mutually treated each other…….
If it makes you feel better it seems as if a few of the radical lefties like Nutella have been permanently banned from the “other room”, so maybe don’t take it personal?
Back to topic (ish) and stir the pot a bit, here is a video of the lefties lovely “resistance fighters” jacking an aid truck and executing the driver in Gaza:
I wonder how Hamas is going to spin this to instruct Western lefties to blame Israel for all these crimes?
Not passing tests then. Reframed as simply not taking things to a personal level while disagreeing with whatever, not whoever, needs to be disagreed with while providing a different perspective. Echo chambers do no good. I have seen open dialogue here and in the other room that seems to comport with guidelines. I look forward to your return but I can’t help but think you carry the burdensome chip of personal grievance on your shoulder still.
Gaza seems to remain a question mark with regard to an end state.
again, I was not put on the sidelines for taking things to a personal level. I was put on the sidelines because my “only purpose here is to cause dissent”.
You continue to try to pretend that that is something other than what it is. which is most likely because you don’t want an echo chamber, while ignoring the fact that that’s exactly what some people want and have created.
From there you go on to try to rationalize whether every once in a while you glimpse something other than an echo chamber while (now) brushing past the orginal questions of what’s changed, what attracted you in the first place, and why there are no new posters or newly often posters and it’s clearly only 25 posters agreeing with each other over and over again.
I appreciate your view of a chip. That might have been true against the worst of the worst (Nutella and KS).. Beyond that you would have to point out where someone wasn’t swinging just as hard at me. and first in most instances. I’ll again point out you and I seem to be able to coexist without getting “personal”
As to the end state of Gaza, I would say this didn’t begin yesterday and won’t be settled by tomorrow regardless of the bluster of the current blusterer in chief.
“If the UAVs (drones) of the so-called world superpower managed to capture a fabricated image of a single truck, they somehow failed to see- or chose to ignore- the daily Israeli crimes witnessed and documented by the entire world in both conscience and humanity…
The continuation of Washington’s adoption of the Israeli narrative only deepens its immoral bias and places it squarely as a partner in the blockade and the suffering of the Palestinian people…
The United States, which receives daily reports on these violations, does not need drones to recognise the magnitude of the crimes- it only needs a measure of human conscience and political responsibility to stop justifying the occupation”
The context is that there have been a number of criminal gangs armed and under the protection of the IDF (as reported by UN and humanitarian organizations) that have been looting and raising chaos throughout Gaza, so there is no way of knowing that this is Hamas, or what is even happening…apparently no aid groups have reported this event or any missing drivers. In areas that are under the control of Hamas they have gone after these gangs that have stolen food and a number of the perpetrators have been “brought to justice”, which the US is fully aware of and not pushing back on as Hamas remain the only political or police authority in the area…and of course there are no courts or any method of having trials, imprisonment, etc. The broader context is that this video is widely propagated in the west (to incite condemnation of Hamas?), with Marco Rubio apparently so focused on whatever happened here that he had to comment on it regardless of all the other daily chaos and continued killing. Aid groups and Hamas continue to report that nowhere near the 600 trucks required by the ceasefire agreement are being brought into Gaza, and meanwhile there are videos of Israeli settlers destroying and looting aid trucks with impunity. Israel does not and never has wanted peace…they will just continue killing at whatever rate our government lets them get away with.
