Meh. My vote is for random pissed off hillbilly who had his lifted f150 raptor seized for too many dui tickets from state troopers.

Perhaps, but the perception that the militarization of police has gone mainstream. This coincides with the growing number of negative experience, law abiding citizens experience with police as well and a belief that police view themselves as different than civilians. You can’t have that for too long in a free society. Eventually you are no longer free, or police administration has to give. Unfortunately that reconciliation isn’t always a clean process.

Maybe not, but we don’t have to jump from a) discontent to b) ambush and kill. (though I know you gleefully hope for that).
I don’t support ambushing or assault. I didn’t necessarily have a problem with Nevada standoff resulting in both sides shooting each other. But this was clear murder. I just think it is inevitable with the direction we have been going.
If they’re going to attack cops because there are some who are rogue or criminal - at least attack the cops that ARE rogue or criminal. Its like the people who go off the deep end because they are bullied. They lose all sympathy when they hurt innocent people who had nothing to do with those acts.
While I agree that some/many LEO need to be reigned in - acts of violence like this is not the way to do it. I will admit that there doesn’t seem to be an option that is effective.

This happened just to the northeast of the are where the Rev3 Poconos triathlon was held this past weekend. I noticed the flags were at half staff Sunday at the state park where we stayed, but forgot to ask why at the time.
The link below says the suspect is a survivalist, has an (unspecified) grudge against police since 2006 and is a member of an ‘Eastern European … military simulation unit’ whatever the hell that means. Sounds like he is a skilled outdoorsman in his home terrain, probably going to be awhile until they root him out. Condolences to his family.
