Well, this is kind of awkward. So I went to a nearby tri retailer to pick up a high-quality race uniform for IMAZ because my current uniform isn’t the best quality. So I dug through the men’s section (the men’s section!) and pulled out some one-piece race uniforms and tried them on. A gray DeSoto Forza suit caught my attention as it seemed very high-quality and fit me well. The zipper was in the back, which I thought was odd, but I figured it wasn’t that big of a deal because the suit seemed perfect, otherwise.
Now that I’m home, I noticed that the badge on the leg says “Triathlon Femme”. Which got me worried. So I looked online and, lo and behold, I had bought the women’s Forza trisuit. I am, in case you don’t know, a man.
The obvious solution would be to return it in exchange for a Small Men’s Forza suit, but the retailer is out of them. And none of the other suits seemed to work for me.
But it fits and is comfortable. Do I stick with it and forever go down as the man who fit in women’s trisuits? Or do I avoid the awkward stares as I get passed by the entire field in my women’s uniform and hunt down another uniform? You know, a men’s uniform.
Give De Soto a call. I am sure Emilio can help you out. If you like the fit and the back zipper, check out the new ITU suit; I think it’s the nicest of their suits.
The irony of your sig is quite stunning:

If its comfy for you who cares? 95% won’t know and the other 5% are too busy checking you out and not worrying about their race so you’ve got them beat!
If it works for you run it.

Yeah, isn’t that great? I coordinate my entire team’s apparel but I can’t even buy the right sex’s uniform.
In my defense, the women’s uniforms in the store were tagged with labels that said “Women’s Trisuit”, but this one was tagged “Trisuit”, like all the men’s uniforms, so I thought I was safe.
Emilio De Soto here. The store where you bought it will probably exchange it for you if you have not worn it yet. If they are out of the men’s version have them order a men’s from us…or ask them for a refund…if they are an official De Soto Dealer they will do that for you.
But I would concur with the others who said, if it fits well, then wear it. Heck I used to race in a women’s wetsuit before I started selling the T1 Wetsuit.
I was just going to email you today before I figured – what the heck? It fits great, looks great, and feels great. So I’m going to stick with it. Although having a zipper in the front would be nice, it’s not a huge deal for me. I can pull the top down and zip it back up quickly while running, so bathroom stops wont be an issue in long course races.

Or you can just walk up to some studly male triathlete at your next race and say " zip me up big boy?’
I say keep it. If it fits and is comfortable - that’s what most important! And for anyone who might notice, it’s worth a bit of a laugh. If anyone questions your manliness, tell them you needed more room for your chest.
I was trying to find some pink shorts for IMLP…the only ones I could find were womens - and the padding was designed moer for software than hardware (if you catch my drift) there there were seams in some unseemingly bad places.
Just make sure you shave your legs before you put it on, pay special attention to the bikini line. You had to know that was coming .lol ! If it fits who cares!
