Tripple vs Double STI

Can a tripple 10 speed STI be used as a double? Is it jsut a matter of setting the limit screws and watching the shifting or is there a way to change the shifter itself?

Thanks…

And what about the FD? If you have a tripple FD can yu set the limits to just be used as a double?

Should not be a problem. I’m currently using a 9 speed triple on a double set up. Limit screws are all you need to change for both der.

How about for Campy gear?

Probably, I’ve never used Campy so this is a complete guess. Don’t see why this wouldn’t work, though.

Campy uses the same shifters for doubles and triples. All Campy shifters can be used with any front derailleur (including any manufacturer other than Campy).

I’m strictly Shimano but I think the answer is yes… I think this has been posted before and if you do a search on “campy” and “triple” (one “p”) you might find the threads.

Campy uses the same gear for triple or double. I changed from double to triple two years ago and never had to change my shifters. Just re-set your “stop” screw.

Thanks kids!

Maybe I should do a search for “bonehead who can’t spell” maybe there is a thread on how to remove my brain with a broken spoke and wire it with flight deck hooked straight to dictionary.com… that would be nice.
