There is nothing pre say MTB wise in Ventura. Couple decent spots within 20-30 min drive. Here is a link to a couple. http://web.venturacountystar.com/special/mtbride/index.shtml There is also gridley canyon in Ojai, should be able to look that one up in a google search. There is a ton of road riding, from flat along the coast to some decent climbing in the mountains http://www.cibike.org/page12.html good list of routes with elevation profiles and maps. Bike Depot on main street rents stuff, not sure what they have though. Open Air Bicycles on Main has a specialized demp program, so you could try that route.
