Trimathlon Korea

Well my fellow ST-ers, I have a couple of things to confess to!

First of all, the “Body by Budweiser” concept (that I caught on from KP’s forum) has turned into a reality in the Indus civilization. Though, correctly said, it is “Body by Kingfisher” as Heineken and other such noble brews are stuck outside our borders, given export restrictions! I ran around after IM-Brazil’s MASSIVE disappointment to see how I could train more, sleep more etc. Of course, the local tri-fed was being a fed and refused to acknowledge races over 2 hours being interesting. No one knows what an Ironman is, around here. Caring is quite out of the question.

Second, Ive decided that since triscadecaphobia has set in in year 2007 and is going to stay that way (when the hell am I going to bike enough for a decent IM-bike-split? No one really knows… my main prerogative on my roads is staying alive) another IM is not going to kill me. Besides, it seems like I lose weight only on race day, never before. Besides I seemed to have forgotten the swim portion existed at IM-Brazil. So, I dont CARE if I take 25 hours to finish the next race @ korea. By writing this Ive commited to getting there and starting.

Third, there is no such thing as world peace. I cannot pose as if I understand poverty (if I have access to the internet) or understand life itself, by any means. But, recently, someone very close my heart was diagnosed with glioblastoma and barely made the start line of the much-required first surgery. After a lot of shock and anger at another issue (like world peace) much out of my control, if athletics means I get to live a little, why not spend that time trying? Its not like my bank balance or happ(y)ness hinges on my good looks anyway!

Finishing a race is as difficult as starting a race.

Stay tuned!

And where does the math come in?

Terminal velocity of mass hurtling through an Ironman = (training hours)/(mass of body as determined by 6-7 weeks of “build(ing)”-period beer consumption).

PS: Drag, as induced by other variable physical factors such as pyjamas for race-wear, not included in the above equation, since the computer cannot handle qualitative simulations.

I think that’s my problem. I can’t get up to ‘hurtling velocity’ in an Ironman.
