Triathlon Watch Setting

I had the RS800CX and love it. I also may be one of the only few people that loves the Polar Pro Trainer. I was able to create intervals based on distance and speed, both integral parts of my training program (EN). I purchased the Timex Global Trainer because while the RS800CX was very functional, I was tired of strapping the GPS on my arm and the buttons on the watch not depressing consistently.

It’s taking me a while to get used to TGT but I’ve just discovered that I can’t create intervals based on distance or speed. I talked to their support and confirmed they do not support either forms of intervals. So, with this new info, I’m almost tempted to sell the TGT and go back to the RS800CX. But before I do, I wanted to see if anybody know if there are any other watches in the market that allow me to create intervals based on HR, distance or speed. I’m not familiar with the Garmin watches so would appreciate any feedback from everybody. If not, back to Polar it is.

Thanks,
Marc

Garmin is the way to go. I am also an EN guy and program every one of my workouts in my Garmin. Then I just do whatever the watch tells me… Go to Garmin’s website and download the 310XT manual and read through the functionality list.

Thanks for the response! Just read a couple forum posts about the next replacement for the 310XT. I guess I’ll stick with the Polar for a few additional months and then buy the new Garmin as a Xmas present
