Triathlon Reading Suggestions

Going to Hawaii and need some recommendations on any tri related books that may worth reading while on the plane. I have already read Macca’s book. Thanks for your suggestions.

Something with a lot of pictures and preferably a cover made out of dimpled carbon fiber ;0)

An interesting one that will be coming out (unfortuantly post Hawaii) is a book called “As the Crowe Flies” it will be a series of black and white pictures chronicling Crowies training in prep and on race day at Kona.

Cant wait for that.

As with Chrissie Wellington’s Autobiography

Triathlete’s Training Bible
Cyclist’s Training Bible
Both my Joe Friel
.

Here’s how I rank the tri books I’ve read.

17 hours to glory. Great book about Kona. Favorite tri book so far. Very inspirational. I would read it again if I were Kona bound.

Racing Weight. Areas of the book get a little detailed, but it is generally a good read. Lots of useful information.

Macca’s book. I liked it, good read. Not as good as the other two.

If I could rank the “triathlete’s training bible” any lower, I would.

Enjoy the trip

See if you can get a used copy of Mike Plant’s “Iron Will” from Amazon. It’s the early history of Kona - will get you really psyched.

“Once a Runner”, John L. Parker
“The Great Swim”, Gavin Mortimer
“Gold in the Water”, P.H. Mullen
