As part of what seemed like some sort of coping with bad weather featurette, they just showed a clip of a sprint tri in Orlando from some time this summer, complete with voiceover of how miserable outdoor exercise can be in the South.
They finished with one triathlete vowing “No more triathlons in Florida in July ever” and another talking about going north to check out the Minnesota tri scene in a quest for cooler weather.
I caught that. I thought it was a pretty good piece. I was surprised at how well they covered all parts of the race.
They should have done some more research on Kona though. They showed the clip of Sian Welch and Wendy Ingraham crawling across the finish line and that was fine, but then they showed the Julie Moss meltdown and couldn’t identify it.

I was only half paying attention through parts it it, since I was also doing some sewing at the time. But it really did a nice job of capturing the feel of the summer humisery down here.
