Triathlon Lifestyle condos

Someone posted this on my club board but it really is bizzarre. Anyone who live in New York will know that dropping five figures as soon as you start the sport is not uncommon but even I’m surpirsed the obsession has gone this far…

They have a 50 FOOT pool? Did I read that right? I guess only a billionaire can afford a 25 meter lap pool in New York.

You would also think they would include some sort of bike locker system on the ground floor or parking deck – or at least a bike closet in each condo. I think living in a condo building would be tough as a triathlete, just from the bike maintenance standpoint.

To be fair I think it’s an infinity pool that shoots water at you so you can swim on the spot but if they half fill it with triathletes how they’re going to sort out who’s got dibs at 6am is beyond me. Plus you shouldn’t discount the training benefits of a glass mosaic lined pool ;-).

Worth noting there’s a 50m pool less than a 15minute jog away but I wonder how many residents will use that…

It is - my stable is limited to 2 because I can only fit one in my ‘dining alcove’ (bike room) and one in my bedroom. Wipe downs in the apartment are fine but if I ever need to clean a bike properly I have to take the lift to the twelfth floor, sneak up the fire escape past the penthouse and do it on the roof.

It says 2 resistance pools, I reckon that’s 2 endless pools.

An infinity pool usually means that when you sit in the normal seating area there’s no line between the pool and the view. Usually accomplished by an overflow gutter at the for end of the pool.

Knowing what little I do about NY real estate developers I’m inclined to think the resistance pools will be two puddles with a bungee cord that you can tie yourself too (only semi sarcastic this is a pretty common poor man’s endless pool) and the infinity pool will be one of these:

One thing I’m certain of is that there’s nowhere in New York you can build a ground level pool with a view worth looking at and the roof is taken.

I think I’m going to build condos, sell them at $500k per condo and include 2 yrs free coaching. I promise a 50m L shaped pool with a 25scy section off one end, multiple computrainers, treadmills, no weights though and bike lockers. Please paypal me a deposit of $200k if interested.
