As an Aussie living in the US - it is troubling to see just how close Australia came to losing it’s governing triathlon body - what is more concerning is that athletes were training and racing with no insurance coverage - and didn’t even know.
Interesting article - not sure what would happen to this guy if it was in the US

Hey, what’s the story to with Triathlon Australia and the positive drugs test by at IM West Australia. There seems to have been no reaction from them, either DQ’g the competitor or exonerating him/her. While IM Germany’s treatment of Katja Schmacher may not have been the perfect example of how to treat a positive (or should that be non-negative) test, it would seem that the matter was dealt with significantly more expediently than the IMWA situation.
It seems to me that second and third placed athletes will be wanting interest accrued on their increased earnings if the athlete is eventually suspended and DQ’d.
pure speculation, but since the positive was for nandrolone and there now appear to be some potential issues with that test, perhaps that has something to do with it.
