From a recent Tri Mag article - “With their induction, Empfield and Pigg join the Inaugural Hall of Fame class of 1998, which consists of triathlon founders Tom Warren, Bill Shanahan, David Pain, Bill Phillips and Jack Johnstone; the 1999 class of Dave Scott, John Collins, John Howard, Sally Edwards and Valerie Silk; the 2000 class of Julie Moss, Scott Tinley, Carl Thomas and Jim Curl; 2001 inductee Scott Molina; 2002 inductee Mark Allen; and 2003 inductees Sylviane and Patricia Puntous.”
I’m not sure about the Triathlete “Hall of Fame,” but usually these types of things restrict their inductees to those who have retired or dropped out of contention for the top spots.
While it is feasible that a fit and motivated Dave Scott could come back and go around 8:30, I think all the others you mentioned are “out of the hunt.”
PNF still goes to IM Hawaii regularly. And I hope and pray that Luc van Lierde gets healthy and gets his act together and just busts one out in Hawaii very, very soon.
