Look at the dudes bike, you can see a cage and water bottle on the outside of the downtube, is this possible or is it an illusion?

As in the underside of the downtube? Sure. I had that on an OLD MTB – the thing was drilled for 5 cages… Including one on the underside of the downtube. For some smaller compact frames, this is actually the more accassible location. But I’d hate to have a bottle there in winter… Imagine what could land on your bottle from road spray… Ew.

I’ve seen tourer bikes with another bottle cage under the down tube. But they normally have mudguards, so that would keep it a bit cleaner anyway.

This cant be a safe setup, imagine reaching for a bottle all the way down by the bottom bracket on the bottom of your bike, sheeeesh
.

dude - you only reach for it once. you hammer the more accessable bottle dry first, then grab the underside one and place it in the topside cage.

dangitall, i guess NOBODY remembers the tube-socks wearing scraggly hair hippie fully-loaded bike touring days, eh?

The what???

like this dude, ze-gopha - in the seventies this was where it was at in cycling, bro:

take note of that bottle location . . . . . . . .

Thank God I wasn’t born until the eighties.

How much WEEED did you have stashed on that trip, sheeeeeeesh
.

Seriously. You can’t call yourself a bikie unless you’ve lived on your bike for at least a week.

See the world on a bicycle; it’s the best of all worlds.
