Triathlete Attorney (Poll)

I was curious how many athletes here on this board were attorneys and worked in the legal field. I am thinking about buying some advertising space on this site and was curious if it made sense. Thanks in advance for your response. This would be just a portion of our business.

I have been a triathlete for 10 years and love this board…

if you did bike stuff for sure it would be worth it. Otherwise I think it depends on what market you are in ie what city or state. Colorado, Cali, some where with tons of Ster’s then yes totally worth it.

Eugene AKA government attorney

The product we are marketing (Legal Workspace) is a terminal server environment that can be utilized anywhere, regardless of location. Now, on the other side of our business, www.bncsystems.com, we have to be more specific to target audiences within the Denver and Dallas markets.

Good thoughts though, Thanks!

FWIW I graduate Law School in 3 weeks.
I poked around on the website a bit. I probably won’t be doing much with the management side of things for a while, but, if I were and had any decision authority I would be interested in learning more.

Will there be a slowtwitch “discount”?

i am an attorney, have been for the last 15 years. work mostly in criminal–fed and state, and PI. Good for scheduling workouts around. as a suggestion on advertising, you might want to contact Bob Mionske who advertises and writes a column in Velonews. he does a bike accident practice. i do several bike accident cases a year, but as a general rule, insurance companies in the midwest tend to grind you down because they hate bikes and think they should never be on the road. most cases i put in suit unless there was a clear citation issued or something strange like a drunk driver situation. feel free to contact or PM me as well. hope it works out.

I’m currently an in-house GC but am always open for change and would certainly check out your offer.

JD here, not practicing. Firm in Bham.

General Practice Attorney in New York. I do frequent the site, but not a place I’d look for legal employment.

I think you will find that most insurance companies everywhere think that anyone anywhere who is asking them to pay anything more than a pittance in a claim for anything (bike, sickness, accident, hurricane) is unworthy scum trying to rip them off. They will pull out all the stops to wear you down. However, as long as you are paying them money they think you are the kind of people who keep America strong.

bankruptcy and litigation attorney here in the midwest, in practice for 7 years. Would more likely look at your ad here than on an aba website or other law-related site.

Your sig line is confusing . . . . are you a Tiger or an Eagle?

GEAUX LSU

I see the LSU…

War Eagle is a battle cry. We are the Auburn Tigers.

Have you ever heard the story of the War Eagle? (I am asking in all honesty)… if not…there are 3 “stories…”…this is the most popular.

“War Eagle” is Auburn’s battle cry, not a mascot or nickname. The most popular story about the battle cry dates back to the first time Auburn met Georgia on the football field in 1892 and centers around a spectator who was a veteran of the Civil War. In the stands with him that day was an eagle the old soldier had found on a battlefield during the war. He had kept it as a pet for almost 30 years. According to witnesses, the eagle suddenly broke free and began majestically circling the playing field. As the eagle soared, Auburn began a steady march toward the Georgia end zone for a thrilling victory. Elated at their team’s play and taking the bird’s presence as an omen of success, Auburn students and fans began to yell “War Eagle” to spur on their team. At the game’s end, the eagle took a sudden dive, crashed into the ground, and died. But the battle cry “War Eagle” lived on to become a symbol of the proud Auburn spirit.

I’ve been to LSU to run in track meets in high school… pretty place…humid. Seeing Mike was something different! I grew up getting to pet the Eagle, both Tiger & Spirit… we’d go to games and there in the middle of campus was her enclosure. They would let kids in a few at a time to pet her. It was incredible. Although nothing more incredible than seeing her fly at a home game…chills!

sorry, I love Auburn like you probably do LSU.

Yea, I’m a law-talking-guy. Your inquiry may have already paid off; I forwarded a link to your site to our managing partner (he said he’d look into it).

Your product seems to be web-based practice management, right? Funny, some of the other posters somehow got the idea that you are an employer or headhunter. Please PM me with free trial and pricing info; I may be interested.

Yes, you are correct, the service in question is very similar to a “Web Based Practice Management” solution. Not sure how the individual confused us with a head hunter.

This has been some great feedback and I appreciate everyones response. I am speaking with the person who heads up our legal department and working with him on possible advertisement opportunities. Who would I speak with at Slowtwitch to secure space?

Based upon the initial response, I think there’s a really good fit here.

I only meant to say that I would not have use for the tool in my current job as GC.

Govt atty here in Chicago. As was mentioned before, I’d be more likely to look at an ad here than on an ABA website, etc.

I am a government lawyer. We’re pretty invested in our document/office management systems. I might look at your advertisement out of curiousity, but it wouldn’t lead to any business heading your way; however, there may be enough ST lawyers in private practice to make it worth your while.

I was just ribbin you a bit. Gotta get the jabs in when I see an Auburn fan. I did my undergrad at LSU and am currently doing my master’s at LSU. I didn’t actually know the story behind the War Eagle thing. I just cringe when LSU is playing Auburn and I have to see that goofy “War Eagle” commercial on TV where the Auburn fans see each other at the airport and yell War Eagle to each other.

Ah the awkwardness . . . .
