Next season all TriAmerica National Triathlon Series Tour stops will feature our new TriAmerica Distance of a 2K swim (1**.**25 miles), 60K Bike (37 miles), and a 15K run (9.3 miles) along with a shorter race of approximately half those distances. The new TriAmerica distance falls between the international and half iron-distance and in most venues will feature a two lap bike and run course. Each TriAmerica Festival Weekend will also include a new TriAmerica Super Sprint Triathlon (200 yard swim - 6 mile bike - 2 mile run) and our popular TriAmerica TriKidz Triathlon for youths ages 6-14. Look for potential TriAmerica stops in California, New York, Oregon, Colorado, Texas, South Carolina, Florida, Wisconsin, Illinois and more. Look for the complete schedule in late December.
Registration for the TriAmerica National Series Tour opener in Clermont, Florida, on April 14-15, 2007 is now open! Early entry discounts are available through December.
Fred, awesome…I love this distance…a mix of speed with a chance of actually bonking…we have a race in Kingston ON that has had the 2/55/15 distance since back in 1984, and the Muskoka Long Course has had this distance since 1996.
I didn’t see Louisville on your list. That is disappointing, since I loved that race being here. When I didn’t race, I volunteered (except this year since it happened to fall on the same date as IMLP). Wished there was some way to get you back here.
Ironman’s contract prohibits another race using the same venue within 120 days of their race. With Ironman being the biggest fish in the sea, we were tossed back out to sea. We will announce a Midwest replacement venue in a few weeks.
We are still in negotiations with several of the cites so I cannot divulge the venues yet. I can say that TriAmerica will be a true national series in 2007 with events on both the east and west coasts.
Fred : will you have timing mats out on the bike courses next year ?? At this year August OD race, the top OA female (my wife was 2nd) won from behind in the swim, by being credited with a bike split faster than Male OA winner KJGrog.

This is a great race schedule, being 3 weeks before my normal spring HIM race, the Gulf Coast Tri. Just long enough to work out any bugs in the race plan, but not too long to hurt me too much. Is the bike course going to be out Cherry Lake Road through that newly built subdivision? Maybe up my nemesis…Jalarmy Road?
On a different subject, what about polos for this year’s GFT?
Man, that sucks. I was really looking forward to Triamerica Louisville '07. That was a really cool course, going through downtown and across the river. Hopefully the midwest replacement will be just as good.
Cool this is the same distance as infamous Muskoka triathlon in Canada. Personally I like a relative shorter swim and longer bike but this is a great distance for the swimmers.
What happened to the Clermont series deal like last year? Your web site has a “Click here for multiple race deal” link or something like that, but nothing’s offered except the early registration for the GFT/FL Challenge. I did the entire Clermont series last year and I’ll do it again, if you offer a multi-race discount.

Is that specific to Louisville? I know in Tempe AZ the lake gets used at the same spot that they have the IM at about a month later.
